Wow! It has been one brutal summer here in Arkansas. We spent most of it under a heat warning with heat indexes up to 110. It sure is hard to get motivated to go outside when you turn into a puddle of sweat just walking out the door. Luckily it looks like fall is coming early and we are actually getting some decent cooling trends. Time for one last honey harvest before prepping the bees for winter. Breeding season for our goats are fast approaching and soon we will see the swelling bellies of next years kids showing in their mothers. Fall is always a busy time around our place as we try and get all things ready before winter. This fall's plan is to expand the pasture out to the old original fence lines. Years of neglect have turned parts of our pasture area into woods. It has been an adventure bringing this place back to productive after being ignored for so many years.
